Principal Ben Davis
Who is Ben Davis?
Ben is the founding Principal of Rosenwald Collegiate Academy. He has spent over 11 years in education.
When asked what his Leadership Superpower is, Ben cites his receptiveness to feedback and his excitement to work with students each day. For other educators on his team, he is a model of excellence for supporting students. As a school leader, he is known for his strong relationships with students. As Rosenwald’s School Leader since 2018, Ben has worked to found a school that is rooted in the belief that college access for their students will pave the way to a better future for our country. Ben’s vision for Rosenwald’s advisory program unites academics with co-curricular activities so that each student is supported by their team on the field and in the classroom.
Ben has been an educator and education leader in New Orleans since 2007, when he joined Teach For America. He taught Physical Science, Environmental Science, and Algebra I in New Orleans at Joseph S. Clark High School for two years. He then joined Collegiate’s Abramson Sci Academy in 2009, where he taught Algebra I for three years and led grade level teams as a Dean for two years. Starting in 2012, Ben had the pleasure of helping to lead a remarkable team of students and educators as a principal at G.W. Carver Preparatory Academy. Now, as the founding Principal of Rosenwald Collegiate Academy, Ben supports in all aspects of programming and instruction. He believes that by investing in our youth and creating excellent schools we can build a better world.
